A 30x60 metal building is 1,800 square feet. It is the longest of our standard 30-foot-wide buildings, and it is also the best value per square foot of any of them.
Both configurations we build come in at $27,344 and $27,998 installed — about $15 per square foot.
Both are 12 feet at the eave and both have a vertical roof as standard, which is the roof style we recommend in Wisconsin because snow and water slide off rather than sitting in the panel seams. The $654 between them is the wainscot — a second colour band around the lower wall. That is appearance only.
Put our 30-foot-wide buildings side by side at their lowest price and the pattern is clear:
The rate is roughly flat between 30x40 and 30x50, then drops at 30x60. The reason is structural: the two end walls are the expensive part of a steel building, and they cost the same whether the building is thirty feet long or sixty. Stretching the length spreads that cost over more floor.
Going wider or taller works the opposite way, because both add material to every frame in the building. That is why a 30x60 at 1,800 square feet costs less than a 35x50 at 1,750 square feet, which is $52,672 — nearly double, for slightly less floor, because it is wider and four feet taller.
Thirty feet across still gives you three 10-foot bays. What sixty feet of depth adds is the ability to run two vehicles nose to tail in every bay, with room to walk around them. In practice that is six vehicles, or four vehicles and a full shop area at one end.
It is also the first size where a dedicated zone stops feeling like a compromise. Twenty feet at the back for a workshop, with forty feet of parking in front, and neither gets in the way of the other.
For equipment: a tractor with implements attached, a boat and trailer plus the tow vehicle, or two RVs under 30 feet.
It is the size for someone with more than three vehicles, a small business running vans or trade equipment, or a hobbyist who wants parking and a real workshop in the same building without the cost of going to 40 feet wide.
If you want the same floor area in a shorter, wider building, a 40x60 gives you 2,400 square feet but costs considerably more per square foot. Width is what you pay for.
If 1,800 square feet is not enough, the 30-foot-wide range continues:
Note the 30x90: 29% more floor than the 30x70 for just $1,325 more, because it is a foot shorter at the eave. Height again.
Delivery and installation are included, and every building is engineered and certified for the snow and wind loads of your county.
How much is a 30x60 metal building?
$27,344 or $27,998 installed, depending on whether you take the wainscot. That is about $15 per square foot.
How many square feet is a 30x60 building?
1,800 square feet.
How many cars fit in a 30x60?
Six, parked two deep in three bays, with room to move around them. Or four plus a workshop area.
Why is a 30x60 cheaper per square foot than a 30x40?
The two end walls cost the same whatever the length, so stretching the building spreads that cost across more floor. Width and height work the other way.
Can I get a 30x60 taller than 12 feet?
Yes, we build to order. Expect the price per square foot to rise with every foot of eave height, since taller walls need longer columns, heavier bracing and more panel.
Tell us the height and the door package and we will quote an installed price for your address. You can also build one in our 3D designer or compare every size we make.
